Science at Garland
Statement of Curriculum Intent for Science
The science curriculum at Garland Junior School supports the whole school curriculum rationale. When teaching science, our intent is to:
1. Provide a challenging curriculum which builds progressively upon acquired language and skills so all children can aspire to do their best
2. Enrich the curriculum with first-hand experiences so knowledge is built on real life understanding.
This is delivered through precisely sequenced units of work which deliver key knowledge and introduce key vocabulary that is built on each year.
